Dinner with the king of the Riesling
18. January 2018
How often do you get the chance do meet the king? The most important figure of natural riesling from the Mosel region, Clemens Busch, is heading to Prague and, together with a special menu will present his unique wines. Be sure to write down the date of this casual foodie event - 23rd of January at La Bottega Tusarova.
Clemens Busch charmed us and tickled our taste buds since we tasted his wines for the first time. No wonder, his family has been closely connected with wine since the 17th century. He began working organically over 30years ago and early on became certified as biodynamic winemaker. Together with his wife, Rita, they specialize in the Riesling grape varietal. Their vineyard sides are steep and curl along the Mosel River. They are made of all three slate types (red, gray and blue) with grapevines dating back 100years.
You can enjoy Clemens’s wines with a special menu as soon as next Tuesday. We begin with the pumpkin velouté with chestnut parfait, marinated pumpkin and pumpkin seeds will be served with Riesling Trocken 2016. We will continue with Riesling Vom Roten Schiefer 2015 and Riesling vom Grauen Schiefer 2014 which will be accompanied by two dishes - ravioli filled with cod and potatoes, orange shallot and Beluga lentil; saffron risotto with scallops and pea purée. Meat lovers will appreciate beef ribs with potato fondant, beetroot, onion ash and mustard sponge - together with Riesling Marienburg GG 2014.A sweet ending will be represented by Millefoglie alla Riesling with a pairing of Riesling Kabinett 2016.
BTW: Wines made by Clemens Busch are available at all La Bottega bistros, Via del Vino and also online
